Service Desk
Requesters can raise a request by navigating to the service request page and clicking the "New Service Request" button in the top right corner. A pop-up window will show different request types. Requesters can use the expand all and collapse all buttons next to the search box to view all requests under each type. They can also search for the required request type from the search bar.
Access Cart
The Access Cart lets requesters request access to multiple or single data objects divided into Schemas, Objects, APIs, Files, and Reports.
To add objects to the Access Cart, go to the Data Catalog, select the object type from the Schema/Objects/Files/Reports/APIs list, and click the "Add to Access Cart" button in the top right corner. Requesters can request access to one or more objects or remove them from the Access Cart.
Data Consumption Source
Data Consumption Source indicates whether the object is eligible for direct data access.
If the object is a Data Consumption Source, it can be added directly to the Access Cart.
If an object is not a Data Consumption source, an alternate Data Consumption Source object can be added in its place.
Users can add alternate data sources by unselecting the ‘Data Consumption Source’ checkbox and later clicking on ‘Proceed’ in the popup.
When a user adds a non-data consumption source to the access cart, a pop-up is displayed suggesting the alternate consumption sources to be added to the access cart. The user can still go ahead and add the non-data consumption source object to access if they want to raise an access request for it.
Data Catalog
To request access or make changes to content for a data object, navigate to the Data Catalog page and submit a request.
Select the required data objects from the list view, click the nine dots menu, and choose "Raise a Service Request" to create bulk requests. Upon selecting "Raise a Request," all service requests for that object type, including system-generated and custom templates, will be visible.
Requesters can also select an object from the list or go to the object summary page, click the nine dots menu, and select "Raise a Request."All service requests for that object type, including system-generated and custom templates, will be visible upon selecting Raise a Request.
Business Glossary
The Business Glossary enables the requester to submit various service requests, including term creation, term approval, metadata updates, modification of the business glossary term structure, and data quality improvements. Create requests from the Business Glossary Terms Summary page, which shows all service requests for that term, including system-generated and custom templates.
In Business Glossary > Tree/List View > Suggest a Term, users can now view and select Data Classification(s) when initiating a service request for Term creation. Navigate to Business Glossary > Suggest a Term.
Select the Domain, Category, and Subcategory dropdown fields and click Continue.
Here, users can view and select the Data Classifications.
Tags
The requester can raise a request on Tags to create a tag. Navigate to the Tags > Grid view page and click the Suggest a Tag icon.
