Types of Service Requests

The application provides a set of service request templates that any user with access can select and use to raise a request. These include both system-defined and custom templates.

Data Access Requests

Meta Read or Meta Write users without Data Access can request access to Schema, Table, Report, API, and Domains for accessing Data. The only difference between the Schema Access request and other data object requests is selecting the specific object type instead of Schema initially and how the corresponding object type is presented in subsequent stages. For instance, business analysts can request Data Access to analyze data.

  • Table Data Access Request

  • Schema Data Access Request

  • API Data Access Request

  • Report Data Access Request

  • Domain Data Access Request

Privilege Access Requests

Meta Read or Meta Write users without access to roles or user licenses can request privileges to the role or user license access. This request allows the selection of roles based on the license type.

Users can request for

  • Role Access

  • User License Access

Content Change Requests

Meta-read users can use this template to request changes to metadata for schema objects (Table, Table Column, File, Report, API, API Attribute, and Term). Requests for object types like Table, File, Report, and Term follow the same procedure, with slight differences based on the selected object type.

  • Term Metadata Change Request

  • Table Metadata Change Request

  • Table Column Metadata Change Request

  • File Metadata Change Request

  • Report Metadata Change Request

  • API Metadata Change Request

  • API Attribute Metadata Change Request

Data Quality Issues

Data quality issue requests for object types like Table, Table Column, File, File Column, Report, Code, Term, URL, and Automated (Generic Objects) Data Quality Issue. Follow the same procedure as for table data quality issue requests. The only difference is selecting the specific object type instead of the Schema during the initial phase and presenting the corresponding object type in the following stages.

  • Table Data Quality Issue

  • Table Column Data Quality Issue

  • File Data Quality Issue

  • File Column Data Quality Issue

  • Report Data Quality Issue

  • Code Data Quality Issue

  • Term Data Quality Issue

  • URL Data Quality Issue

  • Automated Data Quality Issue (Generic Objects)

New Asset Requests

Requests can be made to create Tables, Table Columns, Reports, Projects, Tags, and Terms. All requests follow similar procedures, with only the object type changing in the initial phase. Only admins can create projects and tags, while other users can request their creations.

  • Table Creation Request

  • Table Column Creation Request

  • Report Creation Request

  • Tags Creation Request

  • Term Creation Request

  • Project Creation Request

Term Approval Requests

A term approval request cannot be initiated from the Service Desk because the dropdown menu will be blank during the pre-creation phase. Such a request can only be created from the Business Glossary for the term, which is currently in a draft state.

Since this request has automatic fulfillment, after all users approve it, the term is published, and the Status of the Term is changed from Draft to Published.

Change Term Structure Requests

Meta Read or Meta Write users can request to change the structure of the Business Glossary Term or delete the term using this template.

  • Change Business Glossary Term Structure

  • Delete a Term

Crawl / Profile Request

Meta Read or Meta Write users can request to create a new schema in the existing database, crawl and profile a new database, or profile an existing database. They can also recrawl an existing database by selecting the required template below.

  • Crawl new schema request

  • Database crawl and profile request

  • Database profile request

  • Re-crawl/Schedule database request

Build Lineage Request

Users can request to build a lineage between various objects using this template from the existing database.

Policy Approval

Meta Read users who don’t have Policy Publishing authority can raise the ‘Policy Approval’ request. Once the request is submitted, it follows an approval path, and only after final approval, the requested policy will be published.

ROPA Processing Activity Approval

The 'ROPA Processing Activity Approval' service request in a service desk refers to a formal workflow used to review and approve the requested processing activities related to a Record of Processing Activities (ROPA), as required under data protection regulations like GDPR.
