Lineage Maintenance

This feature allows the user to build the lineage manually by adding an object's source and destination. Users can also map codes or columns manually using this feature.

Lineage maintenance is accessible in two ways.

  • Lineage maintenance is accessible from the Data Catalog's Lineage tab. Clicking the edit icon will redirect to the Lineage Maintenance page.

  • Users can access Lineage Maintenance in the Advanced Tools section.

  • Users select an Object Type, Connector Name, Schema, and Object. The source and destination objects appear when users click the View Lineage option. Users can also build lineage manually by adding source and destination objects along with the responsible codes.

  • Users can click on the edit icon in the code name column in the source/destination lineage of the table to specify the codes for the relationship between two objects.

  • Clicking the download button at the bottom of the table will download a list of related source/destination objects.

  • Users can add transformation notes to the selected table by clicking on the nine dots menu.

Source Mapping: Author users with meta-write permissions can add source objects by clicking "Add Source Object" and selecting the object.

Destination Mapping: Author users with meta-write permissions can add destination objects by clicking "Add Destination Object" and selecting the objects.

Editing and deleting Auto Lineage is not permitted. Changes to auto lineage can only be made through the application.
