Governance Catalog

The Governance Catalog tab captures and displays instances when a Tag, Term, or Domain is created, updated, or deleted in OvalEdge. The details are as follows:

Tags

The "Tags" tab tracks changes to tags and DAGs within OvalEdge. It captures actions performed by users with specific roles ("ovaledge.tag.role" or "ovaledge.role.admin") through the UI, APIs, or LMDF modules.

The audit log records the following details:

  • Tag/DAG Details:

    • Name

    • Type (Tag or DAG)

  • Action: "Add," "Update," or "Delete."

  • Action Details: Specific changes made (e.g., name update)

  • Updated By: The user who made the change

  • Audit Date: Timestamp of the action

Sorting and Filtering: Audit details can be sorted/filtered by Tag, Type, Action, Action Details, and Date.

Example: On December 2, 2023, Peter Scot created a tag named "Marketing" and then deleted it.

Master Tags

The Master Tags tab records details about tags created, updated, or deleted in the Security module. It includes the following information:

  • Master Tag: The name of the master tag.

  • Action Details: A brief description of the action performed.

  • Action: Specifies whether the tag was added, updated, or deleted.

  • Updated By: The username of the individual who performed the action.

  • Date: The timestamp of when the action occurred.

Terms

The "Terms" tab tracks changes to terms within the OvalEdge Business Glossary. It captures actions performed by users with "Meta Write" access on a specific domain through:

  • Business Glossary interface

  • OvalEdge API

  • Load Metadata From Files (LMDF)

The audit log records the following details:

  • Term Details: Name of the term affected

  • Action: "Add," "Update," or "Delete."

  • Action Details: Specific changes made (e.g., name update)

  • Updated By: The user who made the change

  • Audit Date: Timestamp of the action

Sorting and Filtering: Audit details can be sorted/filtered by Terms, Action, Action Details, and Date.

Example: On December 2, 2023, Peter Scot created the term "Production" and then deleted it.

Domains

The "Domains" tab tracks changes to domains and story zones within OvalEdge. It captures actions performed by users with specific roles:

  • Domain Creation: Users with "ovaledge.domain.creator" can create new domains.

  • Domain Updates/Deletions: Security & Governance Admins for a specific domain can update or delete it.

The audit log records the following details:

  • Domain Details:

    • Name

    • Type (Governance Catalog or Data Story)

  • Action: "Add," "Update," or "Delete"

  • Action Details: Specific changes made (e.g., new category/sub-category added)

  • Updated By: The user who made the change

  • Audit Date: Timestamp of the action

Sorting and Filtering: Audit details can be sorted/filtered by Domain, Type, Action, Action Details, and Date.

Example: On December 2, 2023, Peter Scot (with creator privileges) created a Banking Domain and then deleted it.

Data Classification Recommendation

The Data Classification Recommendations Audit captures actions performed on AI model configurations used in the data classification recommendation process. It helps track updates, additions, or deletions made to AI model settings within the configuration workflow.

The following details are recorded:

  • AI Model Name: The name of the AI model associated with the recommendation configuration.

  • Action Details: Describes the specific change, such as "DomainTest model details updated for AI Configuration stepper."

  • Action: The type of action performed—added, updated, or deleted.

  • Updated By: The full name of the user who performed the action.

  • Date: The date and time when the action occurred.

Sorting and Filtering: Audit details can be sorted/filtered by AI Model Name, Action, Action Details, and Date.
