Reports Overview

Reports are essential for interpreting complex data and delivering quick, actionable insights. A lightweight, built-in visualization feature enables efficient report creation and supports compelling data exploration.

Personalized Reporting Experience

To streamline access, users can mark specific reports as favorites. These reports are stored in a personal workspace, creating a customized dashboard for quick access to frequently used items. This feature ensures users can easily retrieve reports most relevant to their tasks.

Advanced Reporting Framework

Beyond basic report creation, an advanced Reporting Framework enables the automated generation of insightful reports. This framework uses the following SQL components:

  • Detail SQL

  • Filter SQL

  • Chart SQL

These components extract and visualize key information, such as user login activity, schemas, tags, and tables.

Custom Report Creation

Reports can be tailored to specific requirements using SQL queries. This customization provides flexibility, allowing users to uncover deeper insights that align with their specific business needs.

Key Reporting Capabilities

  • Effortless Report Creation A user-friendly reporting framework simplifies the creation of custom reports, enabling organizations to extract meaningful insights from their data with minimal effort.

  • Streamlined Report Management Grouping reports under Report Groups enables efficient security management, allowing administrators to assign access rights easily.

  • Integration with BI Tools Seamless integration with popular Business Intelligence platforms, such as Power BI and Tableau, enables a unified approach to data visualization and reporting.

  • User-Friendly Query Sheet The Query Sheet stores historical queries, allowing users to retrieve and reuse past SQL queries when building custom reports.

  • Lightweight Visualization A range of basic chart options—including bar charts, line graphs, and scatter plots—allows users to visually represent data directly within the platform.

  • Effortless Publishing Visualized reports can be published with ease, making them readily accessible from the Data Catalog Report Group.

User Permissions

  • Viewing Reports: Users or roles with Meta Read permission can view reports. This access allows users to see report content but not modify the report’s structure or underlying data.

  • Creating Reports: Users or roles with Data Read permission can create new reports. This access enables users to retrieve information from data sources and generate reports based on the available data.

  • Customizing Reports: Users or roles with Data Write permission can customize reports. This access allows users to modify the report’s content, structure, and data to suit specific requirements.
