# Notifications

To access Service Desk notifications, click the User's icon at the top right corner and select Inbox.

1. When a service request enters the review phase, the system sends notifications to the "requested for" according to their configured settings in My Profile.
2. The system notifies the first and subsequent approvers as the approval phase proceeds.
3. After the final approver approves the request, the system sends notifications to both users who requested the approval, indicating approval, "requested by," and "requested for."
4. If any approver rejects the request, notifications are sent to both users, notifying them of the rejection.
5. Notifications prompt approvers to expedite the approval process if they violate the SLA.
6. The system sends SLA notifications once daily and pre-violation notifications if a request is expected to breach the SLA on a subsequent day. The system dispatches these pre-violation alerts once daily, but only before the actual SLA time for a particular request.
7. When an approver delegates his approval to another user, the delegated user receives a notification that they have been delegated as an approver. The delegate will receive all approver notifications for the set time period.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ovaledge.com/release8.2/service-desk/about-service-desk/notifications.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
