Metadata Governance
Tags
New & Improved
Clone Existing Tags to Simplify Tag Creation
Users had to manually create a new Tag whenever they needed one similar to an existing Tag, which required re-entering descriptions, governance roles, custom fields, and other settings, making the process time-consuming and increasing the risk of inconsistencies.
With this enhancement, the Clone Tag option is now available on the Tags Summary page. Users can create a copy of an existing Tag within the same Master Tag while retaining its descriptions, custom fields, governance roles, and assignability settings. Associations and child Tags are not copied, allowing users to start with the same configuration while maintaining independent relationships.
👉 For more details, see the Clone Tag section.
Fixed
Resolved Misleading Success Messages in Tags
In Tags, an issue where objects could not be added to a Master Tag by roles with read-only access, despite a success message being displayed, has been resolved. The system incorrectly showed that objects were added successfully, even though no changes were made.
The behavior has been corrected to ensure that messages accurately reflect the outcome of the action.
Data Catalog
New & Improved
Empty Value Filtering for Additional Data Catalog Fields
The Data Catalog supported filtering for empty values only on a limited set of fields, making it difficult to identify objects with missing information across several metadata attributes.
With this enhancement, filter dropdowns now include an Empty option for the following additional Data Catalog fields:
All Objects: Code Custom Fields (Single Option and Multi Option), Classifications, CDE Category, CDE Level
Table Columns: Key, Column Type
Files and File Columns: File Type
Reports and Report Columns: Report Type
Code Objects: Lineage Status, Job Type
API Attributes: Data Type
Refer Connectors in Descriptions, Data Stories and Comments
In the Data Catalog, users could mention tables and other catalog objects in descriptions and Data Stories using @ references, but connectors could not be referenced. As a result, users could not easily include source system information in their documentation.
With this enhancement, users can now refer to connectors by typing @ in object descriptions, Data Stories, and comments similar to other catalog objects. Selecting a connector reference in the editor opens the connector Summary page, allowing users to view connector details directly. Connector references in List View support opening details in a new tab, and access is governed by the connector's existing permissions. Additionally, a Quick View option for connectors is now available from the Data Catalog list page.
👉 For more details, see the Refer Objects & View References section.
Standardized Governance Role Display Order
In Data Catalog and across the application, governance roles were displayed in different orders across screens, and some areas used inconsistent role names, making it difficult for users to quickly identify and understand governance responsibilities.
With this improvement, governance roles are now displayed in a consistent order across all affected areas, following the sequence Owner → Steward → Custodian. Role names are also displayed in the singular format to maintain consistency throughout the application.
👉 For more details, see the Governance Roles on Objects section.
Fixed
Resolved Team Member Visibility Issue in Data Catalog
In Data Catalog, an issue where teams assigned to governance roles could not be selected to view their members has been resolved. Team names displayed in governance roles were not clickable, preventing access to the associated members list.
The functionality has been restored, allowing team names to be selected to view the members assigned to each team.
Resolved Date Display and Download Inconsistencies
In Data Catalog, an issue in which date values were missing, displayed in different formats, or did not match between the application and the downloaded files has been resolved. Some date fields appeared blank in the application but showed values in downloads, while others used inconsistent date formats across catalog objects.
Date handling has been standardized to ensure that date values are displayed consistently across the application and downloaded files.
Data Products
New & Improved
Admin-Configured Featured Tags for Data Product Marketplace Filters
In the Data Product Marketplace, users could filter products using standard filters, but administrators could not highlight specific tags to help users discover products more easily. As a result, users often had to browse through extensive tag lists to find relevant Data Products.
With this enhancement, administrators can now configure the selected Master Tags through a new Data Products system setting (data.products.featured.tags.filter). These configured tags appear as a Featured Tags filter under More Filters in the Marketplace. The filter displays only relevant tags associated with available Data Products and presents them in a simple format, making them easier to browse and select.
👉 For more details, see the Discover Data Products section.
Improved Role Management and Cascading for Data Products
When creating a Data Product and selecting a Data Domain, governance roles such as Owner, Steward, Custodian, and Governance Roles 4–6 were not populated automatically. In addition, users or roles added as Data Product Managers or Browsers at the Domain level were applied only to newly created Data Products, requiring manual updates for existing products.
With this improvement, selecting a Data Domain during Data Product creation automatically populates the associated governance roles, which can be reviewed and modified before saving. Data Domains also provide options to add, cascade, and remove Data Product Managers and Browsers for existing Data Products. Users can choose to apply role and user changes to all existing Data Products within the Domain or limit them to the Domain itself.
👉 For more details, see the Data Domain 9 Dots section.
Improved Subscription Details and Navigation for Data Products
In Data Products, subscribed users could view their subscription status and expiry date, but the date of their original subscription was not displayed. In addition, users navigating from the Marketplace to the Explore page lacked a clear way to return to the Marketplace, and the label "Access Mode" in Data Contracts did not accurately describe how a Data Product is made available.
With this improvement, the Data Product Summary page now displays the subscription date along with the existing subscription status and expiry information. Users navigating from the Marketplace to the Explore page will see a navigation banner with links back to the Marketplace, making it easier to move between pages. Additionally, the “Access Mode” label in the Data Contract has been renamed to “Availability” while retaining the existing values, such as By Request and Instantly Available.
👉 For more details, see the Subscription & Banner Navigation sections.
Metadata Access Added as a Delivery Access Mode for Data Products
Data Products previously supported only Data Preview and Data Read delivery modes. Organizations that wanted to share metadata and access instructions without exposing sample or full data lacked a dedicated option and had to grant broader access than necessary.
With this enhancement, a new Metadata Access delivery mode is available for Data Products. Subscribers with this access level can view catalog information and access instructions, while data preview, Query Sheet access, workspace additions, and other data-related actions remain unavailable. The new access mode is also displayed across Data Product filters, subscriptions, and Service Desk requests.
👉 For more details, see the Consumption section.
Enhanced Data Product Draft Management and Lifecycle Notifications
When a published Data Product was moved to Draft for updates, there was a risk that consumers could lose access to the product or view changes that were still in progress, making it difficult to revise published products while keeping them available to existing consumers. In addition, users received limited notifications about important Data Product lifecycle events, making it difficult to track changes to product availability, subscriptions, and access.
With this enhancement, moving a published Data Product to Draft creates a separate draft version for editing while the last published version remains available in the Marketplace. Consumers continue to access the published version, and a Draft in Progress indicates that updates are being prepared. The system also automatically sends notifications for key lifecycle events, including publishing, republishing, unpublishing, archiving, subscription expiry, auto-expiry of instantly available Data Products, and changes to delivery access mode.
This enhancement enables Data Product owners to update published Data Products without interrupting consumer access, while keeping subscribers and governance users informed about important changes that may affect product availability, subscriptions, and access.
👉 For more details, see the Data Product Draft Management and Lifecycle Notifications section.
Configurable Sensitivity and Criticality Levels for Data Products
Data Products supported only a fixed set of Sensitive and Critical values defined by the system. Users could select existing values but could not create, manage, or remove values to match their organization's classification standards.
With this enhancement, Sensitivity and Criticality values are now configurable. Governance Roles & Data Product Managers can create new values, reuse them across all Data Products, and remove values that are no longer needed. These configurable values are available when registering Data Products, editing them from the list or summary pages, performing bulk updates, and using filters in the Marketplace and Explore pages.
👉 For more details, see the Register Data Product section.
Standardized Data Product Requests with Approval-Based Creation
Users without permission to create Data Products had no structured way to request them. Requests were often submitted through informal channels, resulting in inconsistent information and a manual creation process with limited governance and traceability.
With this enhancement, users can submit Data Product requests directly from the Marketplace using a Suggest option. The request captures key details such as the Data Domain, Data Product name, descriptions, sensitivity, criticality, delivery mode, access type, tags, and additional information through a guided form. Submitted requests are routed to a Data Product Manager for review and approval.
Once approved, the system automatically creates the Data Product under the selected Data Domain and populates it with the submitted information. This enhancement provides a standardized onboarding process, improves governance, and simplifies the creation of new Data Products.
👉 For more details, see the Banner Navigation section.
Inline Editing and Advanced Filtering in Data Product List View
In the Data Product List View, users had to open individual Data Products to update fields such as Delivery Access Mode and Status. In addition, advanced filtering options were unavailable for several columns, making it difficult to quickly find and analyze specific Data Products.
With this enhancement, users with the appropriate permissions can now update Delivery Access Mode and Status directly from the List View using inline dropdown selections. Advanced filtering options have also been added across additional columns, allowing users to filter Data Products by filtering options such as Equals to Any of, Equals to All of, Not Equals to Any of, and Not Equals to All of. These options allow users to include or exclude Data Products based on one or more selected values.
👉 For more details, see the Quick & Easy Data Discovery section.
Configurable Governance Roles for Data Products
Data Product governance roles were not managed separately within Security settings, making it difficult to control which roles were available in Data Product-related pages. Changes to roles were not applied consistently, and disabling roles could affect workflows that depended on them.
With this enhancement, a dedicated Data Products section is available under Security > Governance Roles. Administrators can view governance roles in a table, edit role labels and descriptions, and control whether roles (Governance Roles 4,5,&6) are displayed in Data Products by enabling or disabling them. Enabled roles automatically appear across Data Product pages, including the Registry, Summary page, and Data Domain, while disabled roles are removed from these areas.
👉 For more details, see the Configurable Governance Roles for Data Products section.
Business Glossary
New & Improved
Improved Handling of Long Text Values in Business Glossary Service Requests
In the Business Glossary, approving a service request containing a Business Description exceeding 10,000 characters caused the fulfillment job to fail with an SQL error. Users did not receive clear feedback on the character limit, making it difficult to determine the cause of the failure.
With this improvement, Business Glossary service requests containing text values that exceed the supported character limit, such as Business Descriptions, Detailed Descriptions, Technical Descriptions, or Custom Fields, are processed as partially fulfilled. Supported fields continue to be updated successfully, while fields that exceed the limit are skipped, and the reason is clearly captured in the job logs.
ROPA Reports
New & Improved
Display Applied Filter Labels in Reports
In ROPA Reports, applied filters were not visibly displayed, making it difficult for users to identify active filters and understand how the displayed data was being filtered.
With this enhancement, applied filters are now displayed as filter labels above the table, providing clear visibility into the active filter criteria. Each filter is displayed as a separate label showing the column name and selected value. For multi-select filters, all selected values are grouped within a single label.
Users can:
Remove an individual filter by clicking the × option on the filter label.
Remove all applied filters by clicking Clear All.
Filter labels remain synchronized with the filter panel and continue to display even when:
The filtered columns are hidden.
No records match the selected filter criteria.
For more details, see the View RoPA Reports & Associated Data sections.
Reference Data Management
New & Improved
Reference Business Glossary Terms in Reference Data Management
The Business Glossary and Reference Data Management (RDM) modules have been enhanced to improve the relationship between business definitions and reference data. Previously, users had to manually document and maintain these relationships, resulting in inconsistent references.
With this enhancement, users can now reference Business Glossary terms in RDM descriptions using rich-text annotations. This allows users to establish clearer connections between business definitions and reference data, making it easier to maintain consistent information across modules.
👉 For more details, see the References section.
Data Quality
New & Improved
Introduced Warn Severity for Proactive Data Quality Monitoring
The Data Quality framework has been enhanced to support a three-tier outcome model consisting of Success, Warn, and Failure.
A new Warn severity level has been introduced to identify borderline data quality issues that require attention without being classified as critical failures. This enables teams to proactively monitor data quality, reduce false positives, and prioritize remediation activities more effectively.
Data Quality Functions now support configurable warning thresholds for User-Defined Functions, allowing warning criteria to be derived from existing success criteria while enforcing validations to prevent incorrect configurations. Users can also choose to receive notifications for warning conditions through the new Alert on Warn option.
👉 For more details, see the Warn Criteria section.
Display Business Glossary References in Data Quality Rule Summary
The Data Quality Rule Summary → References tab has been enhanced to improve visibility into related Business Glossary terms.
Business Glossary terms associated with Data Quality Rules through custom field relationships are now displayed directly in the References tab. This enhancement provides quick access to related business context without requiring additional navigation between modules, improving traceability between business definitions and Data Quality Rules.
Improved Data Quality Rules Download for Multi-Object Associations
The LMDF → Download Data Quality Rules functionality has been enhanced to improve clarity and consistency when rules are associated with multiple objects. Previously, the downloaded sheet displayed duplicate entries for the same Data Quality Rule, resulting in a mismatch between the rule count shown in the application and the number of rows in the downloaded sheet.
With this improvement, the downloaded Data Quality Rules sheet provides a clearer representation of rules and better aligns with the rule count displayed in the application, reducing confusion during rule analysis and reporting.
Introduced Overall Statistics in the Last Execution Dashboard
The Data Quality Last Execution Dashboard has been enhanced to provide an overall view of Data Quality performance across all rules. Previously, the dashboard displayed execution statistics only at the dimension level.
With this enhancement, a new high-level Data Quality index provides a single view of the overall status of Data Quality rule executions.
The dashboard now provides consolidated visibility into passed, failed, execution failed, and undetermined objects while continuing to display dimension-level statistics. This enables users to quickly assess overall Data Quality health, monitor execution trends, and gain executive-level insights into Data Quality performance from a centralized dashboard.
👉 For more details, see Data Quality Last Execution Dashboard article.
Display All Service Requests in the Object Dashboard
The Data Quality Dashboard has been enhanced to provide complete visibility into service requests associated with an object. Previously, only automatically generated Data Quality Rule service requests were displayed from the Object Summary page.
With this improvement, the dashboard now displays all Data Quality Service Requests associated with the selected object, including manually reported issues. This provides a consolidated view of data quality issues and remediation activities directly from the object dashboard.
