Introduced Centralized Visibility for Masking Policy Associations
The Security module has been enhanced to provide centralized visibility into masking policy associations. A new Masking Policies Associations view is available to help administrators understand how masking policies are applied across data objects and identify the users and roles authorized to access unmasked data.
The new view displays policy details, masking schemes, associated columns and column types, authorized users and roles, and audit information in a single location. The page also supports filtering, sorting, pagination, hyperlink navigation to associated column objects, and download capabilities that are consistent with existing OvalEdge list view experiences.
👉 For more details, see the Masking Policies Associations article.
Data Access Management
New & Improved
View Access Permissions | My Access in Source System Support
In the View Access Permissions module, the My Access in Source System implementation had gaps for source systems supporting the Data Access add-on, resulting in incomplete categorization and display of access paths. The functionality has been updated to provide improved support for categorizing and displaying access at both the OvalEdge and Source System levels.
The following improvements have been implemented:
Expanded My Access support for source systems that support the Data Access add-on
Improved categorization of access paths for supported objects
Display access information at both the OvalEdge level and the Source System level
Jobs
New & Improved
Enhanced Jobs Queue Trend View
In the Jobs Summary, the Jobs Load section provided information about job activity but did not clearly reflect that it represented job trends over time. Users also could not filter jobs by initialization date or quickly view the total number of jobs.
With this improvement, the Jobs Load section has been renamed to Jobs Queue Trend to reflect its purpose better. Users can now filter jobs by initialization Time and view a new Total Jobs column to easily see the number of jobs processed during the selected period.
👉 For more details, see the Job Queue Trend section.
Filter Jobs by Execution Date
On the Jobs Overview, users could not search or filter jobs by execution date. Finding jobs that ran within a specific time period required manually reviewing the job list, making troubleshooting and analysis time-consuming.
With this enhancement, an Execution Date filter has been added to applicable job list pages. Users can now specify a date range to quickly find jobs executed within that period.
👉 For more details, see the Date Filter Jobs under the Jobs main section.
Improved Control Over Concurrent Job Executions
Multiple system and user-scheduled jobs can run simultaneously in OvalEdge. In some cases, running certain jobs simultaneously can lead to unexpected results or data inconsistencies. For example, bulk term association and bulk term disassociation jobs should not execute together, even when started by different users.
With this improvement, the job framework now supports configurable execution rules to control concurrent job execution. Jobs can be configured to run one at a time, allow multiple executions simultaneously, or prevent execution when specific jobs are running.
This enhancement helps ensure that dependent or conflicting jobs do not interfere with each other, improving the reliability and consistency of background processing.
👉 For more details, see the Concurrency Management section.
Connector Health | Job Visibility and Monitoring
In the Jobs module, the Connector Health Thread ran in the background without visibility in the Jobs page, limiting monitoring of execution status, failures, and runtime behavior. The functionality has been updated, and now the Connector Health Thread runs as a monitorable background job and is displayed in the Jobs page.
The following improvements have been implemented:
Added Connector Health Thread execution as a scheduled background job
Added Connector Health job visibility in the Jobs page
Enabled monitoring of execution status and runtime behavior
Added tracking of job failures
Fixed
Resolved Jobs Stuck During Bridge Activity
In Jobs, an issue where some crawling, profiling, and data quality jobs became stuck while Bridge activity was running has been resolved. Affected jobs stopped processing and required manual intervention, while some data quality rules were terminated automatically.
The job handling process has been improved to prevent jobs from becoming stuck during Bridge activity and to ensure stable execution.
Advanced Jobs
New & Improved
Advanced Job | Error Categorization for Lineage Parsing Failures
In the Advanced Job process, lineage parsing failures displayed raw technical exceptions and stack traces, making error identification and troubleshooting difficult. The functionality has been updated, and lineage parsing failures are now categorized and displayed as user-friendly error messages while still providing access to detailed technical information for troubleshooting.
The following improvements have been implemented:
Added categorized error handling for lineage parsing failures
Replaced raw technical exceptions with user-friendly error messages
Provided access to detailed technical information for troubleshooting
Improved visibility of migration-related errors
Job Workflow
Fixed
Fixed Inaccurate Health Time for Advanced Jobs
In Job Workflow, an issue where the health time for Advanced Jobs displayed an incorrect elapsed time immediately after execution started has been resolved.
The health status now accurately reflects the actual execution time since the job started.
Custom Fields
New & Improved
Rich Text Editing Support for Custom Text Fields
Custom text fields allowed users to enter only plain text, making it difficult to capture detailed information that required formatting, images, videos, or structured lists. Users often relied on external tools to maintain richly formatted documentation.
With this enhancement, custom text fields now support the same Rich Text Editor capabilities available in Business Description and Technical Description fields. Users can apply text formatting, create ordered and unordered lists, and insert images and videos while documenting information in custom sections.
👉 For more details, see the Rich Text Editing Support for Custom Text Fields section.
