# Knowledge Agent

This article explains how to use askEdgi as a knowledge assistant to find information about OvalEdge features and tasks. Users can ask platform-related questions in natural language and receive step-by-step guidance without leaving the application.

askEdgi provides relevant answers based on the OvalEdge knowledge base and includes links to related documentation when available.

## Why Knowledge Matters

Business users often require guidance on utilizing OvalEdge features, such as creating glossary terms, building data stories, or configuring watchlists. Traditionally, this requires searching manuals, consulting admins, or waiting for training.

askEdgi eliminates these delays by functioning as a knowledge agent. Trained on the OvalEdge knowledge base, it delivers clear, step-by-step answers to platform-related questions directly within the interface.

## What to Ask

* “How to create a business glossary term?”
* “How to create a Tag?”
* “How to add a table to a data story?”
* “How to request access to a dataset?”

AskEdgi responds with relevant guidance and links to deep-dive articles for the correct module.

### **How It Helps**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ovaledge.com/release8.2/askedgi/askedgi/knowledge-agent.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
