Release8.1 focuses on usability, governance, automation, operational efficiency, and AI-driven enhancements across the OvalEdge platform. It improves user workflows, strengthens administrative controls, enhances metadata intelligence, and increases visibility across governance operations.

Notable updates include:

• AI and askEdgi Enhancements: Workspace-wide data download with role-based access, improved Configure Action flow, governed Take Action framework, AI Instructions for standardized descriptions, guided prompts for next-best questions, and improved prompt visibility, history, and workspace interactions.

• Data Quality and Governance: Introduction of Data Quality Schemes, enhanced Remediation Center with service request tracking, improved navigation, stricter naming validations, better audit separation, hierarchical anomaly settings, improved anomaly visibility, and enriched job logs.

• Question Wall and AI Descriptions: Automatic regeneration of AI descriptions, contextual use of existing descriptions, and support for direct replies from external channels such as Google Chat, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.

• Reference Data Management: Gold Source indicators, expanded visibility across table and column levels, Data Preview for reference values, and Viewer license support.

• Platform Usability Improvements: Redesigned My Desk, improved Browser Extension login, consistent time zone display, bulk Job Workflow execution, and background processing for Query Sheet downloads.

• ETL and Integration Enhancements: Improved ETL management, delta load support for Data Quality Rules API, and expanded connector support, including QuickBooks.

• Lineage Innovation: Introduction of AI-Augmented Lineage for improved coverage of complex transformations.

• Operational Improvements: New Advanced Jobs, additional system settings for AI and governance controls, and multiple fixes and performance improvements across modules.
