# Self-Service Tools

The Data Catalog offers user-friendly self-service tools for streamlined and simplified processes. These tools facilitate various essential actions, including the seamless integration of service requests through the intuitive Service Desk feature. Additionally, the Certifications module certifies data objects, ensuring enhanced data reliability and trustworthiness. The Watchlist feature allows one to monitor specific data objects closely, staying updated on any relevant changes or updates.

## Add Data Objects to My Watchlist

Receive real-time notifications after adding a data object to the Watchlist, ensuring awareness of any changes or updates to that specific object. Stay up-to-date with the latest updates within the catalog and across remote data sources. Add all Data Catalog types to the Watchlist, except File and File Columns.

## Add Data Objects to Impact Analysis

Adding a data object to Impact Analysis helps understand how changes to one data object might affect other related data objects, considering its lineage. Choose from predefined impact analyses and see the potential consequences of their actions before making any changes.

## Add Data Objects to Projects

Add to Project enables adding the current data object to the default project or selecting a relevant project from the list. Projects serve as a collaborative workspace for a group of users, facilitating work on the data object’s quality and content, tracking activity progress, or managing tasks. A data object may be assigned to one or more projects in a Data Catalog.

## Add Data Objects to Access Cart

When the Access Cart is set as the default project, it serves as a centralized access request management system. Meta-Read/Meta-Write privileges can add multiple data objects to the cart and raise access requests in bulk, simplifying management and tracking access permissions for the selected data objects.

## Raise Service Requests on Data Objects

The Service Desk assists in initiating service requests, overseeing them, and monitoring their complete lifecycle, from initiation to fulfillment. Business users can request data access to data objects or modify metadata content in the Data Catalog, ensuring smooth and efficient data-related operations.

## View Data Objects in Query Sheet

A Query Sheet is an interactive interface that allows Producers (Authors) to build, summarize, save, and run queries as per business requirements. This query tool enables users without SQL expertise to perform aggregation, joins, unions, grouping, sorting, and filtering effortlessly with single-click buttons. Minimum Data Read access can view cataloged objects in the Query Sheet by selecting the 9-dots options in the Data Catalog.
