Tally - Access Configuration
This document describes the required configurations for enabling controlled access to Tally Prime through a Tally Gateway service. It outlines the gateway endpoint details, authentication credentials, optional company selection, and required Tally-side connectivity settings necessary to establish secure communication with Tally.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to guide administrators through preparing a Tally environment for platform access by configuring the Tally Gateway service, defining authentication parameters, and enabling required connectivity settings within Tally Prime to allow reliable data access.

Tally Gateway URL
The endpoint URL of the Tally Gateway service that acts as an intermediary between the connector and Tally Prime.
Identify the network address or command-center location where the Tally Gateway application is running.
The URL typically follows the format: http://<ip-address>:<port>
Gateway Username
The username used for HTTP Basic Authentication when connecting to the Tally Gateway service.
Configured within the csp-tally-app service settings, such as:
Application.properties
Environment variables
Gateway Password
The password used for HTTP Basic Authentication when accessing the Tally Gateway service.

Tally Company (Optional)
Specifies the exact Tally company name from which data should be queried. If this field is left empty, the connector will attempt to access the currently active or open company in Tally Prime.
Open Tally Prime.
Navigate to the Gateway of Tally screen.
Locate the List of Selected Companies panel on the left-hand side.
Copy the company name exactly as displayed (case-sensitive).
Tally Web Service Configuration
To allow external access through the Tally Gateway, connectivity settings must be enabled within Tally Prime.
Enable Connectivity Settings in Tally Prime
Open Tally Prime.
Navigate to the Gateway of Tally.
Press F1 to open Settings.
Select Connectivity.
Choose Client/Server Configuration.
Ensure the required client/server and connectivity options are enabled to allow inbound requests from the Tally Gateway service.


Tally Prime must be running and accessible on the configured host for the gateway to communicate successfully.
Ensure the Tally Gateway service is reachable from the connector host.
Verify the gateway URL and port are accessible and not blocked by network restrictions.
Store gateway credentials securely and restrict access to trusted administrators.
Use the exact company name when specifying the Tally Company parameter to avoid case-sensitivity issues.
Keep Tally Prime running and the target company open during connector operations.
