Metadata Changes
The Metadata Changes display any modifications made to the metadata to tables, codes, reports, and APIs. These changes will be visible only after the data connection is re-crawled to review the most recent changes since the last crawl.
Metadata Changes for Tables
The Metadata Changes for Tables shows all tables with recent metadata changes after a data connection is re-crawled, with the following details:
Last Metadata Sync Date: The date on which the changes in source metadata synced with the OvalEdge application through re-crawl.
Type: Shows if it's a Table, View, or Materialized View.
Connector Name: It displays the connection name where the table resides.
Schema: It displays the schema where the table resides.
Table: It displays the name of the table.
Title: It displays the latest title assigned to the table.
Business Description: The latest business description for any table is displayed. If the business description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Technical Description: The latest technical description for any table is displayed. If the technical description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Last Crawled Date: The date on which the table was last crawled.
Metadata Changes for Table Columns
Selecting a table in the Table Metadata Changes view takes users to details on all its columns' recent changes with the following details:
Remarks: Indicates if the column is added, modified, or deleted.
Column Name: Latest column name.
Data Type: Shows if the data type has changed.
Column Length: Shows the change value in the length of the column in comparison to the previous value. It can be positive or negative (in case of a length decrease).
Column Position: The latest position assigned to the column after the re-crawl.
Created On: The date when the table was first crawled.
Technical Description: The latest technical description for any table is displayed. If the technical description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Metadata Changes for Codes
The Metadata Changes for Codes view shows recent changes to code metadata after a data connection is re-crawled, with the following details:
Connector Name: The name of the connection associated with the code/query in which the changes are made.
Schema: The schema's name associated with the changed code/query.
Code Name: The name of the code/query.
Title: The latest title assigned to the code/query.
Code: The actual content of the code/query.
Business Description: The latest business description for any code/query is displayed. If the business description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Technical Description: The latest technical description for any code/query is displayed. If the technical description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Last Crawled Date: The date on which the code/query was last crawled.
Last Metadata Sync Date: The date on which the changes in source metadata synced with the OvalEdge application through re-crawl.
Version: The version of the code/query.
Search by Date: The Unified View features a date filter, enabling users to search for code changes within a specific timeframe.
Compare Code Versions
Selecting a code in the Unified View shows all its versions with details. Users can view:
Last Run Date: Date of the last execution for each version.
Technical Description: Description associated with each version.
The "Compare" button lets users analyze the differences between the two versions. Clicking it displays the complete code for both versions side by side.
Metadata Changes for Reports
The Metadata Changes for Reports view shows recent changes to report metadata after a data connection is re-crawled with the following details:
Connector Name: The name of the connection associated with the report in which the changes are made.
Report Group: The name of the group to which the report belongs.
Report Name: The 'Report Name' column displays the name of the specific report.
Report Type: The Report Type filter column enables users to filter and analyze data by report type.
Title: The latest title assigned to the report.
Business Description: The latest business description for any report is displayed. If the business description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Technical Description: The latest technical description for any report is displayed. If the technical description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Last Crawled Date: The date on which the report was last crawled.
Last Metadata Sync Date: The date on which the changes in source metadata synced with the OvalEdge application through re-crawl.
Version: The version of the report.

Drill Down to Report Details: Clicking a report name in the Unified View takes users to the report's summary page in the Data Catalog. This page displays all the metadata associated with that report.
Metadata Changes for APIs
The Metadata Changes for APIs view shows recent changes to API metadata after a data connection is re-crawled, with the following details:
Connector Name: The name of the connection associated with the report in which the changes are made.
API: The 'API' column shows the specific API endpoint or method where a data or metadata change has been detected.
Title: It displays the latest title assigned to the API.
Business Description: The latest business description for any API is displayed. If the business description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Technical Description: The latest technical description for any API is displayed. If the technical description is not changed after recrawl, it will display as empty.
Last Crawled Date: The date on which the API was last crawled.
Last Metadata Sync Date: The date on which the changes in source metadata synced with the OvalEdge application through re-crawl.
