Report Groups

The "Report Groups Security" allows administrators to control access to different report groups within the data catalog and enable them for granular permission management.

• Grant/Deny Access: Define which users or roles can access specific report groups.

• Bulk Permission Management: Efficiently update role permissions and governance roles across multiple report groups simultaneously.

  

Based on the selected Data Source (Connection Name), the corresponding report groups are displayed along with the governance roles, users, and roles with metadata and data permissions on those report groups.

Report Groups Security and Management

Report Groups Security allows SGA and OE_ADMIN roles to control access and manage report groups within the data catalog.

Creating and Updating Report Groups

• Only SGA and OE_ADMIN can create or update report groups. Required details include report group type, name, description, and associated connector.

Permissions and Governance (SGA & OE_ADMIN only):

• Grant/Deny Access: Define which users or roles can access specific report groups.

• Bulk Permission Management: Efficiently update role permissions and governance roles across multiple report groups.

Detailed Permission Management:

• Individual Permissions: Add, modify, or delete metadata and data access permissions for specific roles or users on a report group.

• Role-Based Access: Set metadata and data permissions for roles based on the license type.

• User-Based Access: Set metadata and data permissions for individual users based on the license type.

• Reflect to Reports (Optional): Inherit report group security access to all reports within the group.

• Define Report Group Admin: Assign an SGA role for a report group and grant them the highest permissions.

Governance Roles:

• Define Governance Roles: Specify mandatory governance roles when setting up a connector (inherited by report groups).

• Update Governance Roles: Modify governance roles for individual or multiple report groups.

• Cascade Governance Roles: Apply governance roles to all reports within a report group.

• Delete Role Access: Remove permission assignments for roles on individual or multiple report groups.

• Delete Report Groups: Delete existing individual or multiple report groups (SGA & OE_ADMIN only).
